How gratuity is calculated across the GCC
Updated for 2024–2025 labour laws

End of service gratuity (EOSB) is a mandatory payment employers in all GCC countries must pay when employment ends. The formula differs by country, years of service, and reason for leaving.

UAE β€” Federal Labour Law No. 33 of 2021: Calculated on basic salary only. 21 days' pay per year for the first 5 years, 30 days per year after. Maximum cap: 2 years' total basic salary.

Saudi Arabia: Half a month's salary for each of the first 5 years, one month per year thereafter. Resignation entitlement is reduced based on service length.

Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman: Each country uses its own tiered formula. Our calculator applies the correct formula automatically when you select the country.
