What our guides are for
The guides are general educational material for people considering a visit visa or a move to Portugal, written for readers living in the UAE and the wider GCC. They are meant to help you understand how a process works and what it will ask of you — not to persuade you that a particular route is right for you.
They are not legal advice, and reading one does not make you a client or create any professional relationship.
How they are written
- Guides are written in-house by the Vizabolt team, drawing on official published guidance from the relevant authorities and on what we see in the cases we handle.
- They are published under the Vizabolt name rather than a personal byline, because they are the organisation's position rather than one person's opinion.
- Where something depends on your individual circumstances — and most of it does — the guide says so rather than generalising.
What we deliberately do not publish
A number of things commonly found in visa content are absent from ours on purpose. Each is either outside our control or changes often enough that publishing it would mislead more often than it helps:
Deliberately absent
- Approval rates, odds, or any suggestion that preparation improves your chances by some amount
- Guarantees of any outcome
- Government fee amounts and visa-centre charges
- Processing times and appointment waiting times
- Minimum income thresholds and minimum bank balances
- Definitive "official requirement" checklists — document lists are always framed as what is commonly requested
Where a figure would normally go, our guides point you to a consultation instead, so you get the current position for your own circumstances rather than a number that was accurate when the page was written.
Accuracy and going out of date
Every guide shows when it was published and, if it has been revised, when it was last updated. We review and update guides when we become aware that something material has changed. We do not claim a fixed review cycle, because we would rather not state a schedule we cannot promise to keep.
Corrections
If you spot something in a guide that is wrong, out of date, or unclear, please tell us at info@vizabolt.com and point us at the page. Corrections to anything materially misleading are made as a priority, and the updated date on the guide changes when they are.
Links to other sites
Where we refer to official sources, we encourage you to check them directly. We are not responsible for the content of external sites, and an official site's guidance always takes precedence over our summary of it.
